The Sgt at Arms was a small but fun role in the chorus of HMS Parlaiment allowed for some exciting and creative costuming.

Part of that fun was adding as many buttons as possible to give it all the pomp and circumstance that the character embodies!

The uniform begins with gold braid stripped trousers, a waistcoat adorned with gold braid and buttons, and a formal tunic that is heavily trimmed with gold braid and buttons.

White gloves and a gold trimmed cocked hat are used to complete the costume.

The character was very military but also a drunk. Given this, it was necessary to give his costume perfect military precision while also allowing for a pocket that would fit his flask without breaking up the crisp silouette.
